Portable batteries and accumulators
Ecobatterien ASBL organises the separate collection of used portable batteries and accumulators from selective collection points for problematic waste. Subject to regulations specific to local authorities and local authority joint associations, Luxembourg consumers, distributors, importers and producers can dispose of their used batteries and accumulators at these point at no charge.
Moreover, Ecobatterien ASBL provides one sorting and regrouping centre for Luxembourg distributors, importers and producers of batteries and accumulators. Subject to specific rules of the sorting and regrouping centre, access is free of charge for professionals.
Automotive starter batteries
Ecobatterien ASBL organises the separate collection of automotive starter batteries from selective collection points for problematic waste. Subject to specific rules of the different local authorities and local authority joint associations, Luxembourg consumers, distributors, importers, garage owners and producers can dispose of their automotive starter batteries at these points at no charge.
Moreover, Ecobatterien ASBL selects and accredits one or more collectors for the collection of automotive starter batteries from distributors, importers, garage owners and producers located in Luxembourg. Rates are negotiated directly between the holder of the automotive batteries and the collector(s) accredited by Ecobatterien ASBL.
Industrial batteries and accumulators (with exception of batteries of electric and hybrid vehicles with 4 wheels or more)
Ecobatterien ASBL provides one sorting and regrouping centre for Luxembourg distributors, importers and producers of industrial batteries and accumulators. Subject to specific rules of the sorting and regrouping centre, access is free of charge for professionals.
Moreover, Ecobatterien ASBL selects and accredits one or more collectors for the collection of industrial batteries and accumulators from distributors, importers, garage owners and producers located in Luxembourg. Rates are negotiated directly between the holder of the industrial batteries and accumulators and the collector(s) accredited by Ecobatterien ASBL.
Traction batteries for electric and hybrid vehicles with 4 wheels or more
Ecobatterien ASBL selects and agrees one or more collectors to collect traction batteries for electric and hybrid vehicles with 4 wheels or more from garages located in Luxembourg.
The price negotiation will be carried out directly between the garage owner and the collector(s) approved by Ecobatterien ASBL.
The garage owner retains the possibility of returning traction batteries for electric and hybrid vehicles with 4 or more wheels to the manufacturer as long as it complies with the legislation on waste transport and declares annually to Ecobatterien ASBL the quantities that have been reused or recycled.
